A New Year!
By that ^^^ I mean it's a new school year, and a good friend of mine Chris Ventura just recently had his birthday! He posted a video about his wonderful day, and inside it spoke about how it's really up to us how we interpret a new year. Perhaps having a resolution during official new year and failing, instead you can interpret other events as a new year and get a second chance. For him, Chris made this to be his birthday and like myself has set himself a goal to lose weight. I wish him the best of luck with that! Now, not only did this video raise a good point, but it also allowed me to link into my whole weight loss thing...
It's a new school year for me, and FINALLY I have a perfect set of teachers for ALL my subjects. I have a really good feeling about this year and I want things to change, I want to really achieve things this year. Be more productive, more enthusiastic and get better results! I'm confident if i put enough effort in I can. I'm one to procrastinate, not a good idea if I wish to pass this year... I'm hoping this whole weight loss regime can really teach me some self-control and self motivation. I'd really like to improve my image entirely and I think if I'm more happy with myself physically. I'll be more motivated to perform better mentally. We'll see!
My episode of GTek is out today! Be sure to check it out over at http://youtube.com/gtekshow I wont be presenting until after we visit Eurogamer. I'm now editing for the next two episodes! Nice weight off my back.
End Of August Update
Just thought I'd update you on what's been going on the past couple of days. So far I've been keeping well to my whole exercise regime, I didn't go on the Wii today as instead I spent at the day at Colchester Zoo and for at least 4 hours of the day we were walking. I tried to remain healthy eating, I had grapes with my breakfast and some wholemeal bread toast this morning. I didn't eat too much during the day nor this evening. I'm still perfect on not eating any Chocolate or Crisps, which has kept me motivated. I'm in the midset that the results I want aren't just going to happen and if i truly want something I need to work for it. I figure that I'll remain motivated, I want to try this whole lifestyle out for at least 21 days to see if it works. If it does and I'm seeing results, I'll continue and if it doesn't, I'll simply give up!
In YouTube news, I filmed and mostly-edited Episode of GTek tonight which is good, I'm pretty happy with this episode and I love the layout of the show. It's informative yet natural and I don't think it feels too over-edited like some of the other shows on the market, or like SOTW used to be! I should be shooting a video tomorrow for my main channel, it'll probably just be a Vlog, I haven't got anything special planned, and on wednesday I'll be uploading a new GSProductions short we shot last week. This one's pretty cool actually, it's not one of our best I must admit but I got to play around with morphing a couple of times which is new to me, so it was nice to try out. I also found out that my phone camer actually shoots half-decent video, so I've started what i call my mobVLOG series. Just short, breif updates or videos pretty much like facebook or twitter tweets, but slightly more detailed and in video format. They're unedited and upload directly from my phone, which I like because it means that I can just do it quickly and easily and don't have to dedicate alot of time for it!
In script news, it's about 2/3rds of the way through. I'll get more into detail about it when it's finished, i wouldn't want to spoil anything! It's good though, I love writing scripts. I just have to wait until I get that burst of creative energy! I've been playing around and I'm working on video techniques and ideas for effects and stuff, just seeing what I'm capable of. There's nothing worse than writing something that you can't actually pull off, that really slows you down in production.
I'm back to 6th Form on thursday. Bad Times.
Weight Loss: It Starts
Okay, let's start from the beggining. I've always been slightly overweight, I can easily admit that. However, it never really bothered me because of my lifestyle choice and being younger it was never really a big issue. Apart from comments from a few untasteful people, but kids are kids right? Eventually people learn to numb up to things like that. Fortunately as I grew taller I thinned out a bit and me and my dad looked into doing something fitness related and for a few years now have been swimming one day each week, we also recently picked up playing badminton once a week too and have been doing that for a good few months now. It's been good because it's been able to help me maintain a steady weight.
For a while though, I've been considering dieting. I don't really have a very healthy eating plan and my diet's not very well structured, I've kind of always relied on the two days of exercise and going back and forth from school each week enough to keep me well. Yet, it's now the last week of summer and this weekend is the first time I've been at my dads in ages. He's been away the past few weeks. I've still been going to badminton (not as regulary though) but I haven't been swimming and last night was the last badminton night until mid-september when it starts again. Summer has taken its toll and I weighed myself last night. I'm dissapointed with the result. I weighed in at an unsatisfactory 15 stone 5 pounds. This told me I needed to do something.
So as of today I'm on a diet AND I'm exercising more regulary. My aim is to get down to 14 stone, so that's a loss of 1.5 stone. In two months. I plan to have a set time each night where I'll exercise on the wii fit for at least 30 minutes and stop eating chocolate and crisps completely. I'm really hoping you guys can support me on this. I'm very lazy and don't commit to things like this very well, I give into temptation too easily! With your support though, I think I can do it. I'll also be using it as an excuse to update you, perhaps each week on my progress here on my site and get more use out of it!
I'll be mentioning it in a Vlog on my Main Channel and each post here will be listed under it's dedicated catagory of Health. I'm now off to exercise for just over half an hour. LETS DO THIS!
